Presentation by Woody Duncan (Desert Elements Design / Woody Duncan GIS Consulting - Santa Fe, NM)
Topic: Online Map Services Combined with Document Management
Document management plays a role with organizations that have documents everywhere, with increasing volume, and in many different formats. Over 80% of all information is spatial or refers to some location on the landscape. Using geographic information systems (GIS) documents can be identified by things such as street segments, addresses, facility names, etc. Document management systems combined with GIS provides an online means for retrieving documents based on location across multiple spatially related features and increases inter-department sharing avoiding departmental “silos”. This presentation will focus on the use of online map services combined with document management.
Cost for members is $16, for non members the cost is $26. Cost includes presentation, lunch, drink, tax, and tip.
